Apple ar Glasses are coming in 2021

Jon Prosser, a prolific leaker says Apple AR glasses will unveil in March or June of 2021. 

A renowned analyst from TF International Securities Ming-Chi Kuo sent notes that Apple Glasses may launch in 2022 also suggesting that the glasses might introduce in 2021 and publicize in 2022. 

As a result to the delay between uncovering and publicizing, developers will get time to build apps and experiences for iSight Apple Glasses(not the official name,) which will reportedly be running rOS (Reality Operating system.) And, Of course, SDKs and other tools are out for developers to create amazing.

What is Augmented Reality?

AR overlays digital information into your real-world, ‘augmented’ by software on your devices. 

Some popular examples of Augmented Reality:

Pokémon Go: technology that brings Charizard in your world using the camera and display.

Snapchat: same that gives you doggy ears with lenses and filters.

Instagram: filters that give you big eyes and blemishes, with hearts. 

Apple’s relationship with AR and VR

Ar glasses have been a hot topic for many years, with each speculation getting it closer to reality. Apple’s interest in Augmented reality and Virtual reality is apparent with its patent filings in the past decade. And with releases like ARKit, it just gets sturdy. 

Hirings

Apple has been hiring talents for its next AR / VR project unveil. According to rumours Apple has built a hidden workplace having hundreds of employees, focusing on AR / VR, discovering how they can help enhance the way Apple devices are used, Reports Financial Times. 

Bloomberg reported; Apple hired a Nasa’s AR/VR Veteran; Jeff Norris, founder of the Mission Operations Innovation Office of Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Lab, for their AR project.

Jeff will work with Apple’s Augmented Reality team of 1000 employees, under the order of another one of the finest, the Dolby Labs executive, Mike Rockwell. 

The team is working on high definition display, cameras, 3D scanning, and human detection features. Also reported, the team is working on an AR headset which will be lighter, and more comfortable than Oculus Quest. 

Patents

The nice folks at Patently Apple show a surge of Apple patents describing how lenses could cast images on user’s eye, and how smart displays like those on iPhone, iPad and Watch could work as a controller. 

Another patent shows glass lenses with adjustable opacity, so you can cope with the bright side…(get it)

As a matter of fact, Apple is granted 53 patents, for AR devices, 3D mapping technology, and revamped smart iPhone home screen, among others, as found by the good people at Patently Apple.

Apple is currently in works of two AR products, a bulky headset, and a casual looking optic.

The headset is rumoured to release before the more casual looking glasses. Imagine the high tech in a sleek form, no wonder it needs time.
